"Play the dozens" nghĩa là gì?

"Play/shoot the dozens (hàng tá)" = Thi đấu/chơi trò nói xấu, lăng mạ và sỉ nhục họ hàng của nhau (thường là về mẹ mình) trước mặt nhiều người. Kiểu câu không quá nặng hay không quá thô lỗ. Nhất là ở cộng đồng châu Phi/những người Mỹ gốc Phi.

We’re learning how to play the dozens on what may be the funniest episode of Black-ish yet!

By default you can play the dozens of titles Valve has whitelisted, but checking that magical "Enable Steam Play for all other titles" box blasts the door wide open. Still, there's a bit of anxiety involved in plunking down your hard-earned money for what could technically be considered a gamble. Especially titles that employ nasty DRM or use anti-cheat hooks like Easy Anti-Cheat.

Now, after 1960, when we got moving, they couldn't say we were lazy and dumb and apathetic (thờ ơ, lãnh đạm) and all that anymore so they got sophisticated and started to play the dozens with us. They called conferences about our mamas and told us that's why we were where we were at. Some people were sitting up there talking with Johnson while he was talking about their mamas. I don't play the dozens with white folks (người da trắng). To set the record straight, the reason we are in the bag we are in isn't because of my mama, it's because of what they did to my mama. That's why I'm where I'm at. We have to put the blame where it belongs. The blame does not belong on the oppressed but on the oppressor, and that's where it is going to stay.
