"Preach at" nghĩa là gì?

"Preach at/to (someone)" nghĩa là đưa ra lời khuyên thừa về giáo lý, cách cư xử... một cách lải nhải khiến người nghe khó chịu, lên lớp.

Ví dụ
I cannot begin to count (đếm) the times when a few words of encouragement (khích lệ) changed the course of events in my life. No one needed to preach to me or give me a philosophy (triết lý) of life.

As more awareness (nhận thức) about post-election night shifts (ca đêm) has spread, experts (chuyên gai) have started preaching to the media that it needs to better educate voters (giáo dục cử tri) not to expect a “winner” to be known on election night or even in the next several days.

Preaching (thuyết giảng) is an announcement (thông báo) with both certainty and authority (uy quyền). For many people today the word “preach” has negative connotations (ý nghĩa tiêu cực). Dr. Donald Miller has said that “One of the signs of the 20th century is the statement, 'don't preach at me.'
