"Snakebite medicine" nghĩa là liều thuốc chữa rắn cắn; rượu mạnh, đặc biệt là rượu whisky. Từ phương thuốc dân gian sai lầm đó là uống rượu sẽ làm chậm quá trình trao đổi chất của một người sau khi bị rắn độc cắn và làm giảm lượng nọc độc có thể lưu hành trong cơ thể.
