Typically, thousands of the bright flowers blanket fields in the city of Sakura, east of Tokyo, drawing tourists eager to glimpse (nhìn lướt qua, nhìn thoáng qua; thoáng thấy) them in full bloom (nở hoa, ra hoa; tuổi thanh xuân; thời kỳ rực rỡ, thời kỳ tươi đẹp nhất).
But as the country embraces social distancing measures (các biện pháp giãn cách xã hội) to wrestle (vật, đánh vật) the epidemic (bệnh dịch), officials decided to mow the beds so they would no longer be an attraction.
They also pulled the plug on (ngưng, ngừng) the annual tulip festival (lễ hội hoa tulip hằng năm) at the gardens of Sakura Furusato Hiroba.
