"Little grey cells" = tế bào xám tí hon -> nghĩa là các tế bào não.

Ví dụ
Agatha Christie remains to this day the best-selling novelist of all time, all thanks to her unique approach to writing characters and mysteries that even the shrewdest (sắc sảo nhất) among us can’t quite comprehend (lĩnh hội) at first. And her most famous character is none other than Hercule Poirot, the Belgian detective known for using his little grey cells.

If Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poiret was still around, he’d be using his little grey cells, if Ngaio Marsh’s Chief Inspector Roderick Alleyn was called in he’d be doing his inscrutable (bí hiểm) well-bred upper-class sleuth thing.

To many however he will always be the elegant and slightly pompous (tráng lệ) moustached Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, relying on his little grey cells to solve crimes.
