"Pull/draw/haul in your horns" = rút sừng -> nghĩa là rút lui, lùi lại, tiết chế bản thân.

Haul in your horns and act right, or die. That's the only choice I'm going to give any of you. If any of you cause trouble (rắc rối) at tonight's festivities, I'll kill you.

There was some hope of a rebound (phục hồi) at the beginning of Q1; however, these green shoots look likely to be snuffed out (chấm dứt) due to the impact of coronavirus on March’s economic activity. We’ll also get an insight into mortgage approvals (phê duyệt thế chấp) and lending for February, an area of the economy that is likely to suffer a significant slowdown in the coming weeks as consumers pull in their horns from a financial point of view.

“Certainly, everything happening today was unpredictable (không thể đoán trước). Two months ago, most people couldn’t think about a catalyst (chất xúc tác) that would bring about a recession (suy thoái) or a correction in the markets (điều chỉnh thị trường). But I think the key is that even though we couldn’t predict the events we could prepare for them. That sounds like an oxymoron (phép nghịch hợp), but I think that when the markets are such as they were, two, six, twelve, thirty-six months ago, they are susceptible (nhạy cảm) to an unpredictable black swan, and consequently that it was time to pull in our horns a little bit.”
