"Win on points" nghĩa là gì?

"Win on points" nghĩa là dành chiến thắng nhờ điểm số (được bầu chọn chẳng hạn, thay vì so về kỹ năng...). Cụm từ xuất phát từ quyền anh, trong trường hợp không có đấu loại trực tiếp, người chiến thắng được quyết định dựa trên số điểm được trao cho mỗi vòng.
Ví dụ
Things kept going back and forth (lặp đi lặp lại). We'd get a pin and they'd get it back. We'd win on points and they'd do the same.
It is possible to lose a rubber two games to nil (hai không) but still win on points total because of the penalties (hình phạt) in operation.
