"You have got to be in it to win it" nghĩa là gì?

Âu cũng là trò may rủi, đừng sa đà đấy nhé. Photo by Kati Menzel

"You've got to be in it to win it" = phải dấn thân vào đó để chiến thắng -> nghĩa là phải tham gia nếu muốn giành giải (xổ số), phải hành động thì mới có kết quả.

Ví dụ
The National Lottery (Xổ số Quốc gia) picks up the theme (chủ đề), enticing (lôi kéo) hopefuls with the slogan, 'You've got to be in it to win it.

The odds of winning the lottery are estimated (ước tính) at about one in 14million. But you’ve still got to be in it to win it! You can follow National Lottery on Twitter for all the latest.

"Same numbers next week Sid? You've got to be in it to win it!” Sid growls (cằn nhằn) as he digs deep into his pocket, "Another quid (một pao) wasted, fourteen million to one are the odds (tỷ lệ cược)!"

When I asked these women if they ever get tired from going out so frequently (thường xuyên), whether it ever feels like too much, they told me that of course it does. Jeannie added, "Dating so much can be a hassle (rắc rối), but you've got to be in it to win it."
