"More you get, the more you want" nghĩa là gì?

"More you get, the more you want" = càng có lại càng muốn thêm nữa -> thành ngữ này nghĩa là con người ta thường không bao giờ thỏa mãn với những gì đang có.

Ví dụ
The more you get the more you want, is a symptom (triệu chứng) of many. And so it is with an examination of a list of the All-Time Bowl Players, part of an outstanding new book published by the Football Bowl Association.

The irony (sự mỉa mai, châm biếm) is that the more we do and get, the more we want, which leads us to do quite some bizarre (kì quái) things we wouldn’t usually do. It’s a slippery slope (dốc trượt), because on the other side a young person will be criticised and castrated (bị thiến, cắt xén) for not doing anything and will be pressured to do something, anything, the bigger and more complex, the better.

“Some people would say it’s not as big, but for us at Atlantic we take it as seriously as ever. It’s everything for us. Streaming is really important but today you get the Radio 1 and Capital playlists and everybody will be waiting for that news at 5pm. It’s been like that for over 30 years. The whole record industry comes to a standstill (ngừng lại; đi đến chỗ bế tắc). I can be a bit old school at times, but the artists still love airplay because you can hear it, you can feel it, so I still get a massive buzz out of hearing our records on the radio. It’s a drug, it’s addictive, the more you get, the more you want. Don’t tell my wife or my kids, but first thing every morning I open my eyes and the airplay is there. It’s the first thing I look at, even on holiday. I’m such a sad bastard (con hoang, kẻ tàn nhẫn).”
