"The spirit of the law" nghĩa là gì?

"The spirit of the law" = tinh thần của luật pháp -> ý chỉ bản chất hoặc ý nghĩa thực sự của luật pháp.

If we were to accede (thừa nhận) or to be seen to yield (đầu hàng) to such unreasonable demands (yêu cầu vô lý), we would not only be unfair and unprofessional but would also act in violation (vi phạm) of the spirit of the rule of law – a core value in Hong Kong.
