"Evening of life" nghĩa là gì?

"Evening of life" = cuộc sống/tuổi xế chiều -> cách nói giảm nói tránh khi nói về tuổi già hay khoảng thời gian cuối đời.
Ví dụ
Our evening of life comes complete with those age waves that touch the shores (bờ, trụ chống) of our once youthful past – and break with more frequency.
Our hymnals (sách thánh ca) have changed the word “mourning” to the upbeat (lạc quan, vui vẻ) word “morning.” Even in the church, we like to have happy talk! But hear this ancient prayer of the early church: “Abide with us at the evening of the day, the evening of life, the evening of the world. Abide with us when the night of tribulation (nỗi đau khổ) and fear, the night of bitter death comes upon us.”
So, amid uncertainty, even about our own lives and futures, we can take heart in the unshaken conviction (sự tin chắc, niềm tin vững chắc) of Christian faith that God is a God of love. In the searing (làm khô héo, héo tàn) words of the great mystic (thần bí), St. John of the Cross, “In the evening of life we shall be judged by love alone.”
