"Roman holiday" nghĩa là một sự kiện/hoạt động giải trí mua vui dựa trên sự đau khổ, bóc lột của người khác. Cụm từ được lấy cảm hứng từ bài thơ Childe Harold's Pilgrimage của Lord Byron, bài thơ đề cập đến đấu trường mà các đấu sĩ phải chiến đấu đến chết chỉ để giải trí cho khán giả.
