"The ox is in the ditch" = con bò ở trong mương -> nghĩa là có vấn đề lớn, có những công việc khó khăn hoặc không thể tránh khỏi phía trước. Câu này có nguồn gốc từ Kinh thánh (Luke 14), chúa Jesus giải thích cho người Pharisee rằng có những trường hợp khẩn cấp buộc phải xử lý ngay, cho dù có là ngày Sabbath (ngày Sabbath là ngày nghỉ, ngày thứ bảy trong Do Thái giáo).
