"Chase the dragon" = đuổi theo rồng -> (tiếng lóng) nghĩa là hút chất kích thích, heroin. Cụm từ lấy từ hình tượng con rồng trong thần thoại Trung Quốc, ẩn dụ chuyển động lên xuống uốn lượn của khói bốc lên giống đuôi rồng vậy.

Ví dụ
This is 'chasing the dragon'. Mr Fung never 'chased the dragon' in public, but in drug dens (tụ điểm) or lavatories (nhà vệ sinh).

He would never find out that his daughter was teaching the Bharatani women how to 'chase the dragon' – a game in which heroin is heated on foil until it turns black and wriggles like a snake or dragon.

Beads of sweat covered his forehead as he fought off the painful urge to chase the dragon. Like a silk worm devouring a Mulberry leaf, his appetite (thèm thuồng) was insatiable (tham lam vô độ). The opium (thuốc phiện) was now taking control of his body and his mind.

“You're chasing the dragon.”
Georgia's heart pushed into her throat. “What did you say?”
“Isn't that what they call it? Heroin?” She picked up the crack pipe and fished a lighter out of her pocket. “You want a hit?”
