Every doctrine (học thuyết) that has recourse (huy động tới, viện tới) to the police power (sức mạnh công an) or to other methods (biện pháp) of violence (bạo lực) or threat (đe dọa) for its protection reveals its inner weakness (yếu kém nội tại).
DBx: Who can doubt the truth of this observation (quan sát, nhận xét)? Any person or group who threatens with physical violence those who offer challenging words is a person or group whose ideas and ideals are not worth defending. This fact is so regardless of the brilliance of the superficial (nông cạn, hời hợt, thiển cận, không kỹ lưỡng, không sâu sắc; ở bề mặt, bề ngoài) gleam (tia sáng yếu ớt, ánh lập loè; (nghĩa bóng) chút, tia) emitted by those ideas and ideals.
