"Tear (one) a new one" = xé xác ai -> nghĩa là chỉ trích, quở trách hoặc mắng ai thậm tệ.

Ví dụ
“He’ll get on your tail if you mess up a bit, but he’s not the type of person to tear you a new one,” senior right tackle Ladarius Bowie said. “He’ll guide you through it and teach you step-by-step. When he teaches you, he doesn’t want you to be scared of him. He’s that kind of person.”

If you’ve made it this far without unfriending me or heading to the comments section to tear me a new one, I want to thank you personally for sticking it out. You are the reason I write. I obviously have no clue on how to heal a nation. But I think most of us can agree, it would probably start with being honest with ourselves and admitting we can do better. And it just so happens that listening to my readers is how I get better.

This version of Victoria F. is quite different from the meek, weepy “girl who whispers” that we’ve seen so far. “You’re manipulative (gian manh)!” she barks. “You’re fake, and I’m not… I have some very choice words to say to Peter, and he’s going to f—ing know who you are as a person. So good luck, honey!” And good luck to Pilot Pete, who is about to walk into a pre-rose ceremony cocktail party full of women who want to tear him a new one. I mean, just look at Natasha.
