"The lunatics have taken over the asylum" nghĩa là gì?

"The lunatics have taken over the asylum" = những kẻ điên tiếp quản nhà thương điên -> nghĩa là người có năng lực kém lại đi nắm quyền lực, khiến công ty/đoàn thể không có tương lai, làm ăn thua lỗ... Cụm từ sử dụng lần đầu vào năm 1919, khi bốn nhân vật quan trọng trong ngành công nghiệp điện ảnh Mỹ là Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford, and D.W. Griffith quyết định thành lập công ty United Artists. Nhà sản xuất Richard Rowland đã dùng cụm từ trên để nhận xét về họ. Đến năm 1981, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer tiếp quản United Artists, nhưng năm 2004, tập đoàn Sony đã mua lại Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer và hiện không rõ tương lai của United Artists.

Deficits (thâm hụt) didn't matter. Feeding the economy was all that counted.
