"Hog in armor" nghĩa là gì?

Ai? Là ai lôi tôi ra làm ví dụ? Photo by Brett Sayles from Pexels

"Hog in armor/amour" = lợn mặc áo giáp -> (cách nói cũ) nghĩa là người vụng về, cứng đơ mặc mặc xấu.

Ví dụ
A hog in armor, he climbed the mountains of her, and tasted the snowflakes falling from her peaks.

People in the 14th c were so mercilessly (nhẫn tâm) & hilariously cruel. One dude was referred to as a "hog in armor" by the King of France.

This portrait is by father-daughter duo Thomas and Mary Black. Thomas painted drapery (vẽ xếp nếp) for other painters and Mary practiced by copying masters. The sitter said he looked like a 'hog in armour' in this piece.

Dress any Englishman in such a garb (y phục) and he will at once give you the idea of a hog in armour. In the first place he will lack the proper spirit to carry it off, and in the next place the motion of his limbs (chân tay) will disgrace the ornaments (đồ trang sức) they bear.
