"Step on a crack, break your mother's back" -> đây là câu của trẻ con (mê tín) rằng dẫm phải vết nứt, như ở vỉa hè thì sẽ khiến mẹ bị gãy lưng.

The superstition appears to have risen from a belief that cracks lead to the underworld (địa ngục) and the devil could be lurking (ẩn giấu) there.
