"This is why we can't have nice things" = đây là lí do tại sao chúng ta không thể có những điều tốt đẹp -> câu đổ lỗi cho ai hoặc một nhóm vì hành động họ gây ra hỏng hóc, hư hỏng cho điều gì có giá trị.

Ví dụ
Calvin Singleton wrote: "This is why we can't have nice things." But others argued that both images are "acts of graffiti no matter who has done them". Liam Masey said: "So someone has graffitied a wall, the council try preserve (bảo tồn) it and then there's an uproar that someone else has graffitied the same wall. Both the same act despite who did either."

A young woman had climbed onto a hatchling (mới nở) that was emerging from its egg, and was seen gleefully (vui sướng) rocking the exhibit and posing for the camera. After her antics were shared on TikTok and later reposted on Facebook on Thursday (Oct 15), netizens called the visitor out on her inconsiderate behaviour. Several of them asked whether visitors are allowed to ride on the dinosaurs while others lamented "This is why we can't have nice things."

A glaring example occurred early on when a “wfh happy hour” between VC Hunter Walk and journalist (nhà báo) Casey Newton got Zoombombed. Chipotle also had to shut down a public Zoom chat when one of the attendees pushed porn (đồi trụy) to hundreds of participants, according to a New York Times report. This is why we can’t have nice things, even while working during quarantine.

BBC Radio 2 listeners have voted U2’s ‘The Joshua Tree’ the greatest album of the 1980s. This is why we can’t have nice things. The poll was announced to coincide (trùng với) with National Album Day, which was on Saturday. Did you listen to lots of albums? Did you listen to ‘The Joshua Tree’? Did you do either of those things remembering that Saturday was National Album Day?
