"Bull session" = phiên nói chuyện hão -> nghĩa là cuộc thảo luận, tọa đàm, nói chuyện thân mật, ngẫu hứng, thường trong một nhóm nhỏ.

Ví dụ
"If Filson were a whiskey, what would it be?" Doug Thielen, Filson's marketing chief, said, characterizing a typical bull session at the company. "If Filson were a vehicle, what would it be?" The answer was a vehicle that could access the wild.

What tends to go on in a bull session is that the participants try out various thoughts and attitudes in order to see how it feels to hear themselves saying such things and in order to discover how others respond, without it being assumed that they are committed (cam kết) to what they say.

That night, Harvard was holding forth one of his patented (được cấp bằng sáng chế) bull sessions. These were impromptu (ngẫu hứng) affairs usually held in Harvard's cubicle (phòng ngủ nhỏ) among a half dozen of the Trick infatuated (mê hoặc) by the pronouncements (tuyên bố) of the resident intellectual.

Kissinger did not talk religion with his roommates. "We never, ever discussed our Jewishness (tính chất Do thái)," said Gilman. But in late-night bull sessions, Kissinger strongly opposed (phản đối) the creation of Israel. "He said it would alienate (xa lánh) the Arabs and jeopardize (gây nguy hiểm) U.S. interests. I thought it was a strange view for someone who had been a refugee from Nazi Germany."
