"Send (one) on an errand" có errand là việc vặt -> cụm từ này nghĩa là sai ai đó làm việc vặt.

Ví dụ
You may send him on an errand where he doesn’t have to bring his phone. For example, request him to do some mowing (cắt cỏ). Alternatively, you can wait on the natural times that he leaves his phone behind. A good example is when he is going swimming and leaves the phone in the house.

Dawson starts to pipe up (bất ngờ đưa ra) with an idea, but Nellie immediately shouts him down and send him on an errand for more film. I’m still Team Nellie on the “Dawson should shut up” item, but hey: if the kid can’t get the shot, maybe listen?

In “State of Independence”, the terrorists achieve a new low (high?) in tactical brazenness (trơ tráo). Nazir’s people call Brody on the very afternoon that Brody is getting ready to speak at the fund-raiser for neglected veterans and send him on an errand that, frankly, any yutz with a Chevette could probably do: get the tailor/bomb-maker and spirit him away to a safe house before the CIA can swoop him up.

“I am a mature (trưởng thành) person. They are trying to confuse me. I will judge Kulli for myself. If Chandrika is forced on me as an escort, it will be easy enough to distract him. I will send him on an errand, to get body oil for massage. ‘Wait for me at the crossroads when you return with the body oil.’
