“An honest mistake” nghĩa là gì?

“An honest mistake” = sai lầm chân thành -> nghĩa là lỗi không cố ý, không có ý định hãm hại hay trục lợi (ai trong hoàn cảnh đó cũng đều mắc sai lầm cả).

Ví dụ
After a Boston vaccine clinic opened its doors to local residents over 18 Monday, Gov. Charlie Baker called it an “honest mistake” that would not happen again. Currently, only people who are older than 55 or have one health condition are eligible for the vaccine. But on Monday, the Russell Auditorium vaccine site in Dorchester allowed local residents of any age to get the vaccine, appointment or not.

‘Even many Germans can’t understand how the German tax system works – but you shouldn’t be afraid of it. If you make an honest mistake, tax authorities are more than willing to work with you’, he told us, continuing “Getting an understanding of the basics, and some of the most common terminology, can get you a long way there.”

It's an honest mistake and probably one that ensured John Bishop won't leak any bigger secrets about his character in Doctor Who going forward. In the meantime, fans will stay ever vigilant in their quest to press spoilers out of those in the know on the show, and maybe confirm one way or another whether this coming season will actually be Jodie Whittaker's last.
