"Live on my hump" nghĩa là gì?

"Live on (one's) hump" = sống dựa vào cái bướu (nơi lưu trữ nước, chất béo để lạc đà sống sót trong thời gian dài mà không cần ăn) -> nghĩa là sống độc lập.
Ví dụ
After high school, I gathered up all the money I'd been saving, moved out of my parents' house, and set out to live on my hump for the first time in my life.
Never yelling but never pampering (nuông chiều) her children, Mrs. Maye aims to let them live on their hump, kind and, above all, to always work hard. It's something she rarely interferes with because she thinks it's her responsibility.
Older parents often use the familiar saying: "I did everything for you, now that you grow up, you become ungrateful". These parents assume they have a lot of power over their children and try to keep that power, even as they live on their hump.
In India, some young transgender (chuyển giới) women with stable careers with high levels of education want to live on their hump. However, they are being harassed (quấy rối) and attacked by a part of the elderly transgender community.
