"Household words" nghĩa là gì?

"Household words" có household là trong nhà -> cụm từ này nghĩa là từ ngữ, tên riêng quen thuộc hằng ngày; từ ngữ cửa miệng.

As the national No. 1 seed, Arkansas would host (làm chủ) the Super Regional if it wins this weekend’s Regional. Coach Robbie McClellan’s NJIT Highlanders obviously aren’t Arkansas household words. “I don’t know much about them,” Van Horn said Monday after the entire 16 regionals/64 teams field was announced.   “I know their tournament ended interesting.”

Businesses must be good corporate citizens, and in Utah it’s easy to see who they are, as their names are household words and adorn (tô điểm) our gathering places as supporters of the arts, entertainment, culture and sports.

Former Mexican defense secretary Salvador Cienfuegos stands accused (buộc tội) by U.S. prosecutors of aiding the so-called H2 cartel ship drugs to the United States. But in a country where the names of drug lords and cartels are household words the H2 gang left many Mexicans scratching their heads. 

Schools were shut down for what was initially (ban đầu) expected to be two weeks, and cancellations began flooding into our email in-boxes faster than we could process them. Restaurants were told they would have to transition from in-person dining to “curbside (lề đường) pickup.” Virtually everything came to a crashing halt as we waited for the inevitable (không thể tránh khỏi). Zoom and quarantine became household words. Hugs and handshakes became taboo. And, suddenly and smartly, everyone was wearing masks and face coverings.
