"It's the singer not the song" nghĩa là gì?

"It's the singer not the song"  = nhờ ca sĩ, chứ không phải do bài hát -> nghĩa là cách ca sĩ thể hiện bài hát, giọng hát sẽ làm bạn có thích bài hát hay không.

Ví dụ
Sometimes it’s the singer, not the song. The Rolling Stones, who have a rather famous singer, cut a number with that very title in 1965. (It’s not especially memorable.) Sometimes it’s the voice, not the words. Sometimes … well, enough musicology (âm nhạc học).

Not all of the significant voices of pop music from the 1960s are hunkered down in the Coachella Valley this week for Desert Trip, and two of them got together Thursday the Hollywood Bowl to demonstrate the veracity (chính xác) of the Who’s songwriter Pete Townshend’s observation that “It’s the singer, not the song, that makes the music move along.”

In May 1971, The Who were in London’s Olympic Studios recording “Join Together,” which came out a year later as a single in both the UK and America. Pete Townshend’s lyrics include (bao gồm) the line, “It’s the singer not the song that makes the music move along.”

The towers are gone. Gone like a 41-year car radio preset (được lắp trước), which now serves up the Rock of Salvation rather than the Rock of Your Youth. The Rock Station and Rock Towers may be gone, but it’s all still in us. After all, “It’s the singer not the song that makes the music move along.”
