"Trigger warning" -> nghĩa là câu nhắc nhở người xem ở đầu văn bản, video rằng trong văn bản, video đó có chứa nội dung gây khó chịu, có thể không phù hợp với một số người.
Ví dụ
Trigger warnings are too triggering for students, a leading university has suggested as it urges lecturers to say "content advice" instead. The University of Glasgow has advised staff to alert undergraduates (sinh viên chưa tốt nghiệp) to sensitive (nhạy cảm) material such as racism, homophobia and "the aspect of gore (máu me)" in some courses.
Professors have been advised to stop saying “trigger warning” before sensitive content is talked about because it could be too triggering for their thin-skinned (dễ tự ái) students. Instead, they’ve been asked to say “content advisory” prior to speaking about sensitive matters, in order to ensure U of G remains “a safe space.”
The study went on to explain that trigger warnings are terrible for people who have never experienced trauma (nỗi đau), as they can lead to people thinking that they are not resilient and may lead them to think that they are vulnerable to developing mental illnesses.
When I posted a few of these images on Facebook, I found them published with a trigger warning label. Such an irony, given that the same conglomerate allows dozens of videos of people being beaten, lynched, assaulted, and humiliated to be shared widely and triumphantly on WhatsApp, the messaging service it owns.
