"Useful idiot" nghĩa là gì?

"Useful idiot" = thằng ngu hữu dụng -> nghĩa là người nhẹ dạ, cả tin, dễ bị kích động, lôi kéo phục vụ cho mưu đồ chính trị; như nhà văn Gabriel García Márquez hết lòng ủng hộ chế độ của nhà độc tài Fidel Castro ở Cuba, các cây viết cánh tả như George Bernard Shaw, H. G. Wells, Jean Paul Sartre trong con mắt của "đồng chí" Joseph Stalin, Walter Duranty - trưởng đại diện New York Times ở Matxcơva - người đạt giải báo chí Pulitzer về "hungry" chứ không phải "starvation" (nạn đói) ở Ukraine.

Ví dụ
By giving his full-throated (hết sức) support to the “Stop the Steal” lie, he is acting the part of “a useful idiot” – a term, attributed to Vladimir Lenin, to describe a person who propagandizes (tuyên truyền) a cause without really understanding what the cause means.

“Would it be fair, and I’m sorry to be blunt about this but let’s look at it fairly and squarely, that you were set up by others at Kingspan as Kingspan’s useful idiot, who knew the case message and could speak very articulately (rõ ràng) to it, but not the fact that it rested on flimsy (hời hợt) evidence?” asked Mr Millett.

These are the many issues the school administration and board (ủy ban)   are being challenged with — taxpayers who fund (đóng góp) this see wasteful spending, Marxist teaching in the classroom, and a school administration that lies to the people they are supposed to be serving — Chris is the useful idiot trying to right a ship we all know is a sinking dingy….

The journalist Roy Greenslade is a garden-variety “useful idiot”. A former Guardian columnist who, until last week, taught a class in “media ethics” at City, University of London, Greenslade, 74, revealed that during the 1970s and 1980s he supported the IRA’s violent bombing campaign (chiến dịch) against Britain. He hasn’t changed his view since and won’t apologise.
