"Death panels" nghĩa là gì?

"Death panels" = danh sách chết -> nghĩa là hội đồng quan chức khám nghiệm sức khỏe của mọi người và quyết định ai được chăm sóc, ai không được; nghĩa khác là cách các công ty bảo hiểm dùng để cắt giảm chi phí.

Eleven years ago, Americans were deeply involved in the debate (cuộc thảo luận) surrounding the Affordable Care Act, or ACA. One of the main points for the Republicans was that the legislation would create “death panels.”
A decade ago, right-wing (cánh hữu) politicians lied about “death panels” during debate on the Affordable Care Act. National health care was supposed to lead to draconian (hà khắc) choices, with patients paying the ultimate price.
Ten Idaho hospitals and health care systems are now dealing with rationing (hạn chế) health care because their facilities are overrun with unvaccinated patients and lacking adequate (thích hợp) staff. Republicans, it seems, have finally found their “death panels.”
