"No-account fellow" nghĩa là gì?

"No-account fellow" = gã không có tài khoản -> nghĩa là người ít giá trị, tầm thường.

Ví dụ
When Tim was a baby, his dad had moved down to South Carolina and married a woman there; he did not keep in touch. Reggie’s father was worse: an in-the-way (no-account) man of no consequence or merit, in prison on long bids and then out for stints of drunken robberies. Reggie said he wouldn’t recognize him in the street. By contrast, Chuck’s father came around a lot during his early years, a fact that Chuck sometimes mentioned when trying to explain why he knew right from wrong and his younger brothers did not.

That’s some average tourist. But the point is that this intrepid (gan dạ, dũng cảm) character “will have seen nothing of the Burmese people nor of Burmese country.” The right companion will help: “If the traveler arrives from the East he will secure a ‘boy’ at Rangoon. . . . He is usually a worthless, no-account fellow whom no resident, white or native, will employ.” Better to employ the servant you picked up in Ceylon. The real stars of 1913 are those astonishing Padaung women—the ones who stretch out their necks with rings.

But it is another 2007 role that forever endeared O’Toole to a new generation of viewers. As the voice of the feared food critic Anton Ego in Pixar and director Brad Bird’s “Ratatouille,” O’Toole caught all the nuances (sắc thái) of a complex anti-hero whose prickly demeanor (hành vi, thái độ) masks a deep empathy for the soul of a true artist. “Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere,” says Ego in the film’s celebrated closing monologue (độc bạch). “It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteau’s, who is, in this critic’s opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France.” Much the same might be said of a no-account boy from Leeds who went on to become one of the world’s greatest actors.
