Kamie Roesler, 28, a news anchor with WIS-TV in Columbia, was arrested on a charge of aggravated (trầm trọng) assault (tấn công) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Sunday afternoon.
Roesler was sitting outside with a group of people at around 4.30pm in the 1100 block of North Prairie Avenue in Sioux Falls when she got into an argument over politics with a 32-year-old man.
What started as a war of words (đấu khẩu) took a violent turn when the newsreader allegedly grabbed a beer bottle and struck the man in the face, leaving him with lacerations (vết xước, vết rạch) possibly requiring stitches (vết khâu).
The victim refused medical attentions from EMT workers who responded to the scene but later sought treatment for his injuries on his own.
