"Giving Tuesday" nghĩa là gì?

"Giving Tuesday" = thứ Ba cho đi -> nghĩa là ngày thứ ba sau lễ Tạ ơn, mọi người được khuyến khích đi từ thiện, trái với Black Friday và Cyber Monday là hai ngày hội mua sắm lớn.

Giving Tuesday – a day to encourage people to do good and support their communities on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – has become an important day for organizations to turn to donors (người quyên góp) for support, nonprofit leaders said.
Beth Ann Strollo, chief executive officer of Quincy Community Action Programs, said the organization has made a push for donations (ủng hộ) on Giving Tuesday for several years. She said, if nothing else, it’s a chance for nonprofits to share the work they do.
Several last-minute pledges (vật thế chấp) came in Thursday and after AllOne Charities provided its matching dollars, the almost final tally for Giving Tuesday donations totaled $171,078.
Peoples Bank participated in Giving Tuesday by presenting donations to several local non-profit (phi lợi nhuận) organizations. The announcement was made by Larry Allen, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Peoples Bank.
