"Plastic punk" nghĩa là gì?

"Plastic punk" -> nghĩa là cố gắng nhưng lại thất bại ở việc cố bắt chước các phong cách, thái độ, xu hướng nổi tiếng trong các thập niên 70 và 80; nghĩa khác là nhóm nhạc, ca sĩ rock, punk cố bắt chước, tái tạo lại các phong cách của các nhóm nhạc rock, punk từ những năm 1970 đến đầu năm 1980.

At this point, backhanded compliments from critics were boilerplate for Idol. Now I’ve said previously that IDLES aren’t to my taste. They insist (khăng khăng cho rằng) they aren’t punk, post-punk, hardcore or post-hardcore without specifying what they are. Well, to me, they’re plastic punk.
