"Existential question" nghĩa là gì?

"Existential question" = câu hỏi hiện sinh -> nghĩa là câu hỏi sâu sắc, đầy triết lý về bản chất sự tồn tại của con người/vật; ví dụ: "ý nghĩa cuộc sống là gì?". Bắt nguồn từ câu 'To be or not to be, that is the question' (sống hay chết, đó mới là câu hỏi) của đại văn hào Shakespeare.

Ví dụ
In an existential question for the ever-loved pizza, a new puzzling ruling by the Haryana Appellate Authority of Advance Ruling (AAAR) will have lovers of the fast food wondering, which part of the pizza is taxed how much.

It’s a basic existential question for which we have no answer. We really don’t know who forgiveness is for. Is it for the alienated, hurt victims of an act, or is it for everyone? Is its aim to heal the injured or to allow the general public to move on?

The question for us now is to be or not to be…This is the Shakespearean question. For 13 days, this question could have been asked. But now I can give you a definitive answer. New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, a very talented wordsmith on her own, lauded the speech for its powerful expression of courage. Dowd also went on to note that unlike Hamlet, Zelensky had an answer to the existential question: It’s definitely yes, to be.
