"High Expectations Asian Father" = ông bố châu Á đầy tham vọng -> nghĩa là châm biếm các bố mẹ châu Á đặt kỳ vọng cao, bắt ép con cái phải học thật giỏi.
Ví dụ
My family is Chinese-American. Our race has become synonymous (giống với) with educational achievement through archetypal (nguyên mẫu) icons like the Tiger Mom or popular memes like the High Expectations Asian Father.
You may have seen High Expectations Asian Father, the meme also known as Asian dad. If not, its image is of a stern (nghiêm khắc) East Asian man, only his head, no neck, coupled with demands for things like higher grades and other achievements.
That said, when there is an Asian face in a meme, it tends to be something racist (phân biệt chủng tộc) and riddled with stereotypes, such as High Expectations Asian Father.
In fact, it’s almost to the point that we’re our own High Expectations Asian Father, feeling a tinge (một chút) of injustice whenever a global ranking comes up and we’re somehow not at the number one spot, or at least in the top 10.
