"Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells" nghĩa là gì?

"Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells" = chán ghét khu Tunbridge Wells -> nghĩa là cái tên thường gán cho những người bày tỏ sự tức giận trên báo, liên quan đến quan điểm bảo thủ của họ về chính trị. Turnbridge Wells là khu phố ở nước Anh, bị coi là cổ hủ, lỗi thời vào thế kỉ 20.

Ví dụ
Then a question came from a lady who was quite literally “disgusted of Tunbridge Wells”. She wanted to know whether Liz would balance the books. Like St Augustine’s views on chastity (trinh bạch), the Foreign Secretary thought this was a good idea, just not yet.

Add in a Yorkshire rhubarb and gingerbread cheesecake that could make Geoffrey Boycott blush, an impressive bottle of Simpson’s Pinot Noir (yes, a decent English red!), and a very reasonable bill, and you have not so much ‘disgusted’ of Tunbridge Wells, as simply downright delighted.

"His academic (học thuật) achievements and behaviour were not unremarkable for the secondary modern school whose reputation was somewhat frowned upon (không đồng ý) by the Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells element. "I now live and work on Sheppey. Tunbridge Wells seems a million miles away now."

If Tunbridge Wells has entered your radar at all, it's probably due to the 'Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' stereotype (khuôn mẫu) that's still hanging round from the 1950s. It's not all Middle England these days though, and it's well worth a visit.
