"No joy in Mudville" = không có gì vui ở Mudville đâu -> nghĩa là buồn bã, thất vọng. Câu này có nguồn gốc từ bài thơ 'Casey at the Bat' viết năm 1888 bởi Ernest Lawrence Thayer.

Ví dụ
Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light;
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout (reo hò),
But there is no joy in Mudville—mighty Casey has struck out.

The comic ballad about the hometown hero who struck out in a game’s final at-bat meaning there would be “no joy in Mudville” has been memorized (ghi nhớ), retold, republished, recorded, filmed, parodied (chế nhạo), and even made into a Walt Disney cartoon.

There is no joy in Mudville, but there is definitely joy in Oxford and Omaha. Ole Miss is the national champion of college baseball with a 4-2 win over Oklahoma Sunday in the second game of the College World Series finals.

There is no joy in Mudville, or Dirtville, in my case, since the backyard (sân sau) (ZOMG DANO AND I HAVE A FREAKING BACKYARD) from which I write this recap is a Tucson Lawn, as they call it.
