In a statement, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie-Est said it had “learned about the entirety of the situation (toàn bộ tình huống)” and said it was cancelling (hủy) the suspension of the nurse, who works at the Chevalier-De Lévis long-term care centre (CHSLD) in Longueuil.

The incident (vụ việc) has provoked (khiêu khích, chọc tức, kích động) headlines and outrage (sự oán hận, giận dữ) after the Journal de Montréal reported last Friday that the nurse had been suspended by the CISSS for having eaten a slice of toast with peanut butter while on duty on Oct. 2, describing the conduct as “a serious (nghiêm trọng) breach (vi phạm) of the obligations (of the) obligations of loyalty and honesty.”

But after meeting with the nurse and her union representatives on Monday the CISSS reversed (đảo ngược) itself.
