"Proud Boys" -> nghĩa là nhóm cực đoan cánh hữu, chỉ dành cho nam giới, có trụ sở tại Mỹ nổi tiếng với quan điểm chủ nghĩa dân tộc, kỳ thị phụ nữ và người đồng giới và có các cuộc đụng độ bạo lực với các nhà hoạt động cánh tả.

Ví dụ
When the riot (cuộc dấy loạn), allegedly initiated by a member of the Proud Boys, broke out at the Capitol, Nordean, Biggs and Rehl stood back while others – including the fifth defendant Dominic Pezzola – took action, prosecutors (bên nguyên) argue.

Attorneys for the five defendants have argued that they were merely protesting on January 6 and have also suggested that the government is overcharging their clients. In court hearings, defense attorneys have also said the group had no real, cohesive (dính liền, cố kết) plan to attack the Capitol that day. The trial against the Proud Boys is scheduled to start on Monday with jury selection in DC federal court. All five defendants have pleaded not guilty to the indictment (bản cáo trạng) and face a maximum sentence (bản án) of 20 years in a federal prison (nhà tù liên bang).

After five Oath Keepers were convicted last month of crimes related to the Jan. 6 insurrection (sự nổi dậy, khởi nghĩa), the leaders of the Proud Boys should be sweating. Jury selection began this week in the trial of Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and four of his top lieutenants (trung úy) on various charges, including seditious (nổi loạn, dấy loạn) conspiracy (âm mưu), quite similar to those that Oath Keepers head Stewart Rhodes and his followers faced. The evidence (bằng chứng) seems similar too, as CNN reports: It's largely based on "the defendants' own words in texts and social media posts, as well as recorded planning meetings and videos from the riot." Even their defense strategies are the same. Just as the Oath Keepers tried to spin their extensive conspiracy leading up to the Capitol assault as little more than fantasy roleplay (sắm vai), Tarrio and other Proud Boys are arguing they had no pre-existing plans to storm the Capitol, and that any messages suggesting otherwise were just kidding around.
