"At the bottom of" nghĩa là gì?

'At the bottom of' nghĩa là 'là nguyên nhân sâu xa của điều gì' (to be the real reason for something unpleasant).

'All the rage' có từ rage là mốt thịnh hành, cái hợp thị hiếu, người được thiên hạ ưa chuộng một thời; vì thế cụm từ này nghĩa là mốt thịnh hành (to be very ​popular at a ​particular ​time).

Anger is all the rage, and both parties clearly have candidates who are successfully riding the wave.

At a time of sybaritic (xa hoa ủy mị, thích hưởng lạc) indulgence (buông thả, sự đam mê, cái thú), when businessmen wallowed (đắm mình) in luxury and showy greed was all the rage, the Morgan home was imposing but unadorned (không trang trí, không tô điểm, để tự nhiên).

"Cool his heels" nghĩa là gì?

'Cool one's heels' = 'kick one's heels' nghĩa là đứng chờ mỏi gối (to wait, especially impatiently or restlessly).

Ví dụ
Court asks Madan Mitra to cool his heels at home.

It means the 21-year-old defender will have to cool his heels a little longer before getting games at a League One or Two club.

A Los Angeles judge had planned to have Mr. Polanski “cool his heels in jail” if he returned to the United States by delaying a ruling on a proposed deal under which the judge would limit his sentence to 42 days served by the filmmaker in 1977-78.
