'Country bumpkin' nghĩa là những người sống ở vùng nông thôn nên không tháo vát khi sống thành phố, không quen với các chuẩn mực của thành phố, người quê mùa, quê một cục.
Ví dụ
Tyler gets the “country bumpkin in the big city” edit — it’s his first time in New York City! — but no one’s worried about inexperience (thiếu kinh nghiệm) once he starts singing. The judges (giám khảo) go crazy (phát cuồng) for this country crooner (ca sĩ).
Perry’s first major acting (diễn xuất) job was on the soap opera (phim truyền hình dài tập) Loving, which ran on ABC from 1983 to 1995. Starting in 1987, Perry played Ned Bates on the show. The actor relocated to New York City to play the part of the character (nhân vật) he described as a “country bumpkin with a heart of gold (trái tim vàng).”
Although both Creole and Cajun cultures and cuisine (ẩm thực) descend from (bắt nguồn từ) the French, they follow different paths. Creole describes those born to settlers in the French colony (thuộc địa) of Louisiana, specifically New Orleans, and has historically been viewed as a higher social stature (phát triển xã hội) than their country bumpkin cousins, the Cajuns. Cajuns originate from “les Acadians,” who were French colonist who lived in the Acadia region of Canada, known as present day Nova Scotia. During the French and Indian War of the mid-1700s, the British initiated a forced deportation (trục xuất) of the Acadians, which became known as the Great Upheaval (Đại biến động). Many of those deported would eventually colonize Louisiana.
