"Bank Night" = Đêm ngân hàng -> Từ cổ về một sự kiện chơi xổ số phổ biến ở Mỹ thời kỳ Đại Khủng hoảng khi một khán giả trong rạp chiếu phim được gọi tên thì họ được nhận giải thưởng tiền mặt.

During the Great Depression, theater managers increasingly turned to attention-grabbing promotional events to boost ticket sales. “Bank Night” at the Irvin, to cite one example, involved randomly drawing the name of one area resident. If that person was lucky enough to have bought a 35-cent movie ticket that same night, they would win the cash jackpot, which was seeded with $25 and increased $5 for each night without a winner. Because you only needed to buy a ticket, by the time the jackpot reached $100 there would be hundreds of ticket buyers loitering outside, uninterested in the movie and only waiting around long enough to hear word of the name drawn on stage.
