"Cheap Charlie" nghĩa là gì?

"Cheap Charlie" là cụm từ dùng để ám chỉ những người keo kiệt, bủn xỉn. Cụm từ này được sử dụng rộng rãi ở nhiều nước khu vực Đông Nam Á Và có thể đã xuất hiện ở Việt Nam trong thời kỳ chiến tranh để nói đến những tên lính Mỹ không bao giờ sẵn lòng vung tiền vào các quán bar, nhà hàng hoặc gái điếm.
Ví dụ
A crass gesture, perhaps, but one that gives the lie to a commonly held opinion on the island that the Russian tourists coming here these days are all cheap-Charlie, zero-dollar visitors.
