"Thirty pieces of silver" nghĩa là gì?

"Thirty pieces of silver" là biểu tượng của sự phản bội. Thuật ngữ này xuất phát từ Kinh thánh, khi mà cái giá Judas phải trả vì đã phản bội Chúa Jesus là ba mươi đồng bạc (Matthew 26:15). Kể từ đó cụm từ này đã tượng trưng cho sự phản bội.
Ví dụ

That, for thirty pieces of silver, people bestowed (ban cho) the noble responsibility (trách nhiệm cao cả) of protecting the lives of Kenyans turned a blind eye (làm ngơ) as the criminals rode roughshod over (hà hiếp, chà đạp) the country with their lethal merchandise (hàng hóa gây chết người) is most disgraceful.
