"Hot button" = nút nóng -> một chủ đề quan trọng với mọi người và họ có quan điểm riêng.

Ví dụ
Your letter certainly hit a hot button.

The annual climate fest was widely panned (chỉ trích gay gắt) as a failure after wrapping up Sunday with no agreement on hot-button issues such as the Green Climate Fund, an international carbon market, “common metrics” for measuring non-CO2 emissions, and reimbursement (bồi hoàn) to poorer nations for “loss and damage caused by man-made climate change.”

The first feature (bài đặc biệt) by Copenhagen-born director Ulaa Salim dives (đi sâu vào) boldly into a cauldron (tình huống căng thẳng và nguy hiểm) of hot-button issues – terrorism, racism, nationalism and fascism. It’s set in 2025, in a Denmark suffering from bomb attacks and violently polarised (hai nhóm đối lập) politics. This climate has spawned (sinh ra) the titular (chức vụ danh nghĩa) Sons of Denmark. They’re a gang of neo-Nazis (chủ nghĩa quốc xã mới) preaching (thuyết giảng) racial purity and zero tolerance of immigrants, singling out (ném đi) Muslims for especially hostile treatment, threatening them with severed pig’s heads and slogans daubed (lem nhem) in blood.
