Langley was an 18th Century bon viveur who wrote books about Regency style. His spirit lives on with a honesty bar.

Newsom opposes execution on the simple grounds that it’s a sin to kill. “If someone kills, we don’t kill. We’re better. And I cannot sign off on executing hundreds and hundreds of human beings, knowing – knowing – that among them will be innocent human beings,” declared the former bon viveur, now a tousled-headed father of four. Supporters of capital punishment (án tử hình) said he’d rebuffed Californians, who’d rejected abolition of the death penalty.

Not a lot of people know this, but actor Michael Caine has described a former Soho nightclub manager and bon viveur as potentially the “next Andy Warhol.” With his art work also appreciated in some rarefied circles including by the likes of Al Pacino, Charlie Sheen and Lionel Messi amongst others, British artist Lincoln Townley might seem to lack the pedigree and background to take on the art world head on and democratise art ownership. But that is his ultimate aim, and Lincoln has struck a significant relationship in The City of London that may drive this aim to success sooner than one may think.

"Sleeping policeman" nghĩa là gì?

'Sleeping policeman' = viên cảnh sát đang ngủ -> (lóng) nghĩa là gờ giảm tốc trên đường, "con lươn".

Ví dụ
The council staff that are designated to temporarily repair potholes (ổ gà) just don’t give a dam how it’s repaired. Watched a repair being done in Roseburn area the crew turned a pothole into a sleeping policeman in 5 mins what chance have you got.

In most countries speed bumps are put in place to save lives. But in Africa, they might just kill you if you cross them. One motorist driving through the bush found this out first hand when he stumbled upon what he thought was a sleeping policeman in the middle of a dirt track. On closer inspection, however, the hapless driver spotted that it was an absolutely monstrous (kỳ quái, quái dị; tàn ác, ghê gớm; khổng lồ) giant python (con trăn khổng lồ).

The humps (gò, mô đất; (động từ, lóng) quan hệ tình dục với ai đó) are disliked for a number of reasons. They make roads noisier as cars pass over them and are also held responsible for increasing carbon emissions (phát thải khí carbon). “Signs can do the job cheaper and more effectively without annoying people,” Mr Baker said. The changes were welcomed by motoring and safety groups. “If this means the sleeping policeman is finally dead and buried then few will mourn his passing, though it would be good to see more real, live, vertical policemen out and about on the beat making sure the few errant drivers stick to the law,”
