Ví dụ
“Come on, man. Look her up! One of these days you’re going to face her and one of these days you’re going to text me back and say, ‘Dennis you know what? You’re right, she’s good, just like me. She’s a bulldozer (người hay dọa dẫm), but she’s a Rodman.’

“We’ve had the franchise for Hershey’s ice cream (not related to the chocolate company) for 15 years,” said Scott. “It’s been an inside joke that one of these days we’d open an ice cream parlor (cửa tiệm).”

Mid-conversation, one of Flower’s neighbours enters the room. Flower asks her to check her computer’s Internet connection. The neighbour, a Mrs Ghosh, corrects (sửa lại câu nói) Flower. She says, “It is not a computer, it is an iPad.” The nonagenarian (người từ 90 đến 99 tuổi) replies, “Everything these days is a computer; even your phone is a computer. One of these days, we will be asked to swallow a tablet (viên thuốc) and we will all be computerised (điều khiển bằng máy tính).”
