"Cloth ears" nghĩa là gì?

"Cloth ears" = tai bằng vải -> nghĩa (chỉ trích, chê bai) là tai điếc.

They constantly interrupt (làm phiền) guests trying to answer questions or make comments, and are obviously incapable (không có khả năng) of hearing what others say. Why do we have two ears and one mouth? Something to think about, especially if you are an MP with cloth ears…
The London Mayor isn’t the capital’s only political figure (nhân vật), Labour or Conservative, to be fed up (chán nản) with being informed at the 11th hour from on high about this tweak (chỉnh sửa) or that to anything from curfews to test and trace, or despairing of wasting their breath on government cloth ears.
