Ví dụ
It was a groundbreaking (đột phá) legal case which highlighted shockingly cruel youth violence. The unprovoked (vô cớ) attack on Gavin Waterhouse in Keighley exposed the casual brutality of his attackers but also the role played by mobile phones in so-called 'happy slapping' attacks. Mr Waterhouse was a vulnerable young man who was brutally beaten (đánh đập) in a "cruel and revolting" attack by two teenagers which was filmed by a 15-year-old girl.
I'll add my own personal perspective (quan điểm) here. I am from the U.K., and during my last few years living in my native country there were a number of reports of a trend called "happy slapping" — in which teenagers punched or otherwise attacked strangers and filmed it on their phones. The phrase reportedly first appeared in the British media in 2005, and over the next few years there were multiple (có nhiều) examples of it, some of which very sadly resulted in the death of the victims.
There was a lot of talk about "happy slapping" in this period, but neither myself, nor anyone I know, was "happy slapped." As of 2013, the trend seems to be a distant (xa vời) memory (the Wikipedia page devoted to "happy slapping" has no events past August 2009).
It's a craze (vấn nạn) that has terrified many in London. "Happy slapping, the practice of attacking random people by slapping or hitting them and then videotaping the event, has escalated in severity.
