"Robber baron" nghĩa là gì?

"Robber baron" -> nghĩa là nhà tư bản Mỹ vào cuối thế kỷ 19, trở nên giàu có thông qua "khai thác" (tài nguyên, ảnh hưởng của chính quyền, quy mô lương thấp); nghĩa khác là chủ doanh nghiệp hoặc giám đốc điều hành tích lũy tài sản thông qua các mánh khóe trái đạo đức.
Ví dụ
In The Gilded Age, George Russell is likely inspired by the Vanderbilt men, as he's a classic robber baron and a member of new money New York. Though, we hope (hi vọng) he's not like Willie, as we're fans of powerhouse couple Mr. and Mrs. Russell and would hate to see them split.
